Hardy Co-Hosts 1/24-25
The co-host this wknd is Hardy, who’s in our Top 5 with “Favorite Country Song.” He just hosted Nashville’s Big Bash on New Year’s Eve. He also gives us an update on his 10-month old daughter Rosie.’
Hardy co-hosted Nashville’s Big Bash with comedian Bert Kreischer. “Bert hosted it last year, and they asked Bert if he’s do it again, and if he’d want somebody to co-host. I’m told he threw out my name. We go back a ways. So they called me, and I said yes.” Lon asked: Have you ever hosted anything? “No, The closest I’ve come was giving the commencement speech at my college. It was different. Long hours. But I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
But then, Hardy & Bert’s moms were the correspondents in NY’s Time Square: “That was Bert’s idea. It was so random. I texted my mom, and she was freaking out. She said yes. Then I found out how much she got paid, and I was like wowee! My mom was never one who sought the spotlight. So I was shocked she did it. It was impressive. I’m proud of her.”
Speaking of moms. Hardy met Tucker Wetmore’s mom: “I played a show in Washington state, and this woman was in my meet & greet line. She goes, ‘I’m Tucker Wetmore’s mom. I’m just a fan.’ I’ve never had another artist’s mom in my meet & greet line. My mom has befriended Lainey Wilson’s mom. Tucker’s a great guy, and I’ll be going on the road with him this year.”
Hardy’s daughter Rosie is now ten months old: “She’s full hands & knees crawling. She’s able to pull herself up on anything she wants. She can reach things on tables. So we have to keep stuff away from her. All she does is stand up and reach for things.”
Hardy has two songs in the Top 20. He’s one of the writers on Morgan Wallen‘s song “I Ain’t Comin’ Back:” “We wrote that a while ago. We had a session with Post Malone, and we wrote that song in an hour. I’ve been watching it on the chart. It’s nobody’s official single, but I’m happy to be a part of it. It has a neat hook. Thankful to Postie & Morgan.”
Hardy also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Bailey Zimmerman, Meghan Patrick, Mitchell Tenpenny, Morgan Wallen, and Ella Langley.
