George Birge Co-Hosts 1/31-2/1
The co-host this wknd is George Birge, who is in our Top 10 with “It Won’t Be Long.” George just returned from Luke Bryan’s annual festival in Mexico called Crash My Playa. He has stories about that. Plus he updates us on some new music he’s about to release.
Lon spoke to George fresh off the plane from Crash My Playa: “We had the best time. It was my first one. I brought my wife. We played the late night shows, and then Luke had me join him for Beer In Mexico and Pickup Man.”
Lon asked about singing with Luke: “He loves to watch you squirm. They asked me which cover songs I wanted to sing, and about 30 minutes before the show, they told me the two songs. He’s a human jukebox. He knows a lot of songs.”
Lon asked for his favorite memory: “The funniest thing I saw, Luke & Dierks played golf on Sunday, and they got into the Mexican beer. They decoded they were gonna do a song neither knew. So they sang Wagon Wheel, and Luke goes, ‘You may have seen the worst performance of my entire life’ They just had too much beer.”
George dropped by Dustin Lynch’s annual pool party: “I saw some stuff I’d never seen before at the pool party. The theme this year was back to school. If you were bad, you got detention. He had a letterman jacket on. There was a bellyflop contest that a man from Alaska in a speedo won. No shortage of fun out there.”
BTW George dropped a bit of news about some new music: “I have a collaboration coming that I still can’t believe when I see the name next to mine. It is the biggest artist I’ve ever worked with. I think it will be a life-changing song. I can’t wait to share it.”
George also has great stories this week about Parker McCollum, Dylan Scott, Ella Langley, Corey Kent, and Russell Dickerson.
NEXT WEEK: Jason Aldean
