Jackson Dean Co-Hosts 11/1-11-2

The co-host this wknd is Jackson Dean, who’s in our Top 10 with “Heavens To Betsy.” He’s on tour in Australia, so we hear about that. He’s actually on a world tour that has taken him to Europe as well. He tells the story behind his current hit, and why there’s a CB radio in the video.

This is Jackson’s third tour of Australia, “I went to the Sydney Opera House the last time I was here. I saw Beethoven’s 3rd, We were sitting on the floor looking right at the conductor. It was quite an experience.”

Jackson says he’s been amazed by the reception he’s received om this tour: “When you land on a distant shore, and people know your music it is a wild feeling.  It’s an overwhelming feeling. It never gets old.  I’m going places I didn’t even know existed.”

The CB radio in the video to Heavens To Betsy actually belongs to Jackson: “That CB radio came out of a K-5 Blazer, and it’s that’s still fully functional.  I thought it was fitting for the song. 

Jackson recently did a show at the Texas ranch of TV producer Taylor Sheridan: He’s been very good to me.  We’ve met a few times.  His ranch was really beautiful.  Any chance to do something for them, I’m there, because they’ve been so good to us.  He’s used several of my songs in Yellowstone. That was pretty nice.”

Jackson says he’s good friends with Jelly Roll: “Every time I see Jelly, it’s literally a 2-minute hug.  He always takes time with me. The last time I saw him, he had 40 cops taking him to the stage. I think that was at a festival show over the summer.  It’s always an experience with Jelly.”

Jackson also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis, Jon Pardi, and Luke Bryan.
