Chase Matthew Co-Hosts 11/8-9

| November 3, 2025

The co-host this wknd is Chase Matthew, who is in our Top 5 with “Darlin.'” This is his first time as Lon’s co-host. Chase spent most of 2025 on the road with Keith Urban, and he talks about that. He also has stories about Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean.

This is Chase’s first time as co-host: “It feels good to hear you say my name.  It’s been a long time coming.” In fact, Lon & Chase first met in May 2023: “It’s been a learning experience, getting to meet so many people, it’s been a cool time, and realizing this is the pinnacle.”

Chase told Lon his song was based on a real experience: “This came from the pain I felt.  Songwriting is like therapy.  I feel like I’m putting real life situations into a song.  That’s what that one was, and now that girl has to hear this song Top 5 on country radio.”

The video was also a personal experience: “We came up with this script 11 hours before we shot it.  That’s my real garage, at my house, that’s my jeep they’re dancing on, it needed a new hood afterwards, I just called my friends that morning.  The woman is an influencer online, she came over and spray painted my garage door, and it’s still there right now.”

Chase spent the summer on the road with Keith Urban: “What a tour.  I saw a lot of cool stuff on that tour. He gave me a lot of advice about being an artist.  What better person to take advice from?  He’s a real role model for me.”

At the final show, Chase gave him a gift: “That was a hometown show for me.  The least I could do was give him a gift. There is an artist in Hawaii, we had him design this amazing piece of art hand-engraved on the surface of this guitar.  Keith gave us all the biggest smile. Such a cool moment, I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.”

Chase got a couple souvenirs while with Keith in Australia: “I got a tattoo shaped like Australia with the Opera House on it. We saw the Opera House while we were there. I also got a guitar while I was there. It’s a Telecaster Deluxe, nice blue color, and I call it Oz.”

How did you handle the jet lag? “I felt like I couldn’t sleep.  We stopped in Hawaii on the way back.  Did a headline show there.  Everybody rides mopeds.  I wanted to ride one, but it was 11 at night.  So I went on Facebook Marketplace and bought one at 11:30 at night. I showed up with cash. Full tank of gas.  I gave it to somebody at the show that night.”

Chase also has great stories this week about Jason Aldean, Megan Moroney, Tucker Wetmore, Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, and Florida Georgia Line.
