Thomas Rhett Co-Hosts 8/16-17

| August 11, 2025

The co-host this wknd is Thomas Rhett, who’s in our Top 5 with After All The Bars Are Closed. He’s on the road now with the Better In Boots Tour. He’s playing a stadium show this weekend in Cleveland with Morgan Wallen. He also updates us on his four little girls.

He’s been joined on the road by Tucker Wetmore all summer: “He’s new to the road, and I told him his mission is to destroy me.  Since then, he’s turned it up to 12 on stage.  He reminds me of myself at 25. He has been such a blessing.  He’s made me feel younger this year.”

He just headlined a sold out show at Boston’s Fenway Park. “It was surreal.  I’ve had a couple bucket list things, and this was one of them. It took me a while to come down from the high of Fenway. It was completely sold out, 35,000 people. It was just a dream.

On Saturday, Thomas will open a show for Morgan Wallen in Cleveland: “They asked us to be on a few shows, but the only one we could do was Cleveland.  I’ve known Morgan for 7 years. I remember watching him then, and thinking there’s something different about him. Morgan & I remained good buddies, and I’m genuinely excited. I haven’t seen his show since that first time. It’s such a cool moment to watch one of the biggest artists in the world.

Thomas recently released three new collaborations: Blake Shelton, Jordan Davis, and Teddy Swims.  “It was fun to release these collaborations for the summer, I think it keeps people having fun with our music all summer long.  We put out whatever we feel like putting out.”

Lon first asked him about the duet with Blake Shelton: “I’ve known Blake since I was 9 years old.  I sent him this song, and he said he’d do it.  But he didn’t have time to do any of the video content. So we had to be creative.  We brought in four different Blake look-alikes, and none looked anything like him.”

Thomas has spent the past few years raising his four young daughters.  “I feel like I’m about to move into a season of life where I’m going to have some time again.  Starting this Thursday, all of my kids are going to be in school 5 days a week. It’s never happened to me.  I’ve always had a baby at home.  But I think me & my wife will be able to go to lunch again.”

Thomas also has great stories this week about Ella Langley, Luke Bryan, Jordan Davis, Teddy Swims, and Tyler Hubbard.

NEXT WEEK: Bailey Zimmerman with Katie Neal
