Riley Green Co-Hosts 9/19-20

| September 14, 2026

The co-host this wknd is Riley Green, who is in the countdown now with “Think As You Drunk.” It’s on his new album, “That’s Just Me.” He is also the new coach on The Voice, and Season 30 premieres Monday 9/21 on NBC-TV.

It’s a very busy time for Riley right now: “Fortunately when I get busy, knowing how big the opportunities I have are what keeps me going.  It’s been a busy year with filming The Voice, always on tour, and then this album out, it’s a busy time.”

Riley says the time is right to release an album called “That’s Just Me:” “When I got the record done, I thought that’s a great phrase to title the album. There are fans who have known me from day one.  And there are people who are finding me for the first time.  This is just me, the music I like, and the songs I wanna write about.”

Season 30 of The Voice begins on Monday.  Riley says most of his work is done: “We’re done with the blind auditions.  We’re about halfway through filming. But we’re filming two seasons simultaneously.  You’re switching gears a lot. It’s been interesting to see how much goes into a show like that. Logistically it’s the toughest thing is working around schedules.”

In one of the previews, Lon saw Riley bring out his duck call: “It comes out only when I need it.  Me & Adam Levine have a lot of what Blake & Afam had, giving each other a hard time. Queen Latifah is a legend.  Adam & Kelly have been on the show before. They’ve got an advantage over me. I’m the new guy, so I have to figure out how to stand out.”

Lon asked about the surprises: “It’s always surprising when you hear someone do one of your own songs.  There’s been moments when somebody has sung something of mine. You’re happy that someone wants to use your song to showcase their skills. It’s also surprised me how attached I’ve become to these contestants.”

Although Riley was there for the show tapings, he hasn’t actually seen the show yet: “I’m as excited as anybody because I haven’t seen it either.  I have no clue what it’s gonna be like.”

So where will Riley be Monday night? Will there be a watch party? “If I’m in town, I think upstairs at the Duck Blind, with that big video wall will be a great spot to watch.  But it’s not gonna trump Monday Night Football.  The TV’s will be on football and maybe that in the middle.”

Riley also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Josh Ross, Jason Aldean, Zach John King, and Luke Bryan.
