Chris Janson Co-Hosts 6/6-7

| June 1, 2026

The co-host this wknd is Chris Janson, who is in the countdown with Me & A Beer. He tells Lon he just had a song in the TV show Marshals. He & his wife Kelly just moved into a new house. He recently took part in the 100th anniversary of Route 66. He also talks about a new song he just released called “Fun.”

Chris updated us on a big change in his life: “We’ve been building a new house, which we just moved into a few weeks ago.  We contracted it ourselves.  We bought the land in November, started construction in January, and finished it in April.  We’ve been living there for about a month.  It’s unbelievable.”

He was very excited that one of his songs, “Wild Horses,” was used in a recent episode of Marshals: “It was a bucket-list thing for me. I wanted to have music of mine featured in a Yellowstone show.  This is part of that series. The great thing is it’s a song I wrote with my wife.  It’s really cool to hear your song on TV.  I’m super thankful for it.” The song is in Episode 12 of Marshals.

Chris also took part in the 100th anniversary of Route 66.  “It was in Missouri, and I’m from there. The Today Show did a whole production.  So did Fox & Friends.  I was grateful to do both. We did several things. I’m friends with the governor, and he was there. I taught him to play the harmonica. I was happy to represent my home state.”

Chris will be doing a show with Tim McGraw at the Air Force Academy in Colorado: “It’s a show for Space Force.  Tim’s one of my best buddies. I just did a song with David Lee Murphy called Fun, and we wanted Tim to join us.  I sent it to him, and he loved it.  But he’d already committed to the Hardy song.”

Also coming up is a special show on the 4th of July: “I’m celebrating in Jefferson City Missouri with our governor and the other representatives of the state.  We’ve also been getting other offers.  Because I fly to my shows, I may be doing multiple things on that day.  It’s also my wedding anniversary. I’ve been married for 16 years, so it’s a big day.”

Speaking of big days, Chris just celebrated a big birthday: “I turned 40 this year, which is awesome. I was proud to turn 40. Most people try to hide it.  It’s not old anymore.  I have friends in their 80s who act like they’re in their 30s.  That was a milestone, it was great, I’m not a big birthday party guy either.  I just try to live in the now, and be the best husband & father I can be.”

Chris also has great stories this week about Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Riley Green, Zach Top, LoCash, and Cody Johnson.
