Blake Shelton Co-Hosts 1/10-11

| January 5, 2026

The co-host this wknd is Blake Shelton, who’s in our Top 5 with “Stay Country Or Die Tryin.'” His latest TV talent contest just wrapped up, and Blake talks about the winner: Adam Sanders. He also talks about his plans for the new year, including his Las Vegas residency.

Blake begins the show by telling Lon this is a very special anniversary: “This marks 25 years you & I have been doing these things. My first single came out in 2001.  25 years of Lon Helton, what did I do to deserve that!  I meant that in a good way.”

Lon congratulated Blake on winning the CMA Vocal Event award for his duet with Post Malone: “When I saw who was nominated, it was like there’s no way we’re gonna win that award.  Then, that morning I started getting texts that we won, and I couldn’t believe it.  I still haven’t heard from Post.  I probably don’t have his right number.”

In December, Blake’s new TV talent contest The Road chose Adam Sanders as its winner.  Lon asked Blake what was it about Adam that made him the winner: “When Adam walked in, I thought he was an established superstar.  He knows what he needs to do, and how he was going to do it.  He was able to win people over.  He was always in the Top 3.  It was inevitable that by the time he got to the Ryman, he knew what he was going to do.  Obviously he was going to win the show.”

Lon asked if he’s heard about the show coming back for another year: “I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m usually on the fringe of things.  The smart people are behind the curtain.  I didn’t even know that Taylor (Sherridan) has this new deal with Universal.  I hope it comes back.  I think people enjoyed it.  I always know people are watching it when I go to the feed store and people ask me about it.”

Lon pointed out how tough it is to Google Blake, because there are so many fake stories: Blake said, “It’s amazing, in October, I started noticing these stories about Blake & Gwen going through a divorce.  I told her, I see pictures of Gwen & I that look real, but I know I don’t own that shirt.  I don’t believe anything I see on the internet anymore.”

Blake also has great stories this week about Post Malone, Thomas Rhett, Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban, and Dustin Lynch.
