Parker McCollum Co-Hosts 11/22-23

| November 17, 2025

The co-host this wknd is Parker McCollum, who is in our Top 10 with “What Kinda Man.” He updates us on his 15-month-old son Major. He says he was part of the “greatest golf trip ever” with Jordan Davis & Peyton Manning. He also tells the inside story behind the making of his latest video.

Parker co-hosted the countdown from his in-law’s house in Oklahoma.  He’s there with his wife & son. Major. Lon wanted to know about Major: “He’s a wild animal. He’s 15 months, he’s full go, he’s got a different bump or bruise every day. He’s a show-off.  He knows when girls are around. Hopefully he’ll be more like his mama. I didn’t know life could get this good.”

Lon asked how fatherhood has changed him: “The best way I can explain it is I feel like I’ve always been an inquisitive person.  I would always ask why.  I had to have a reason. Then when we had Major, I was sitting there looking at him, and realized that’s why.  That’s why we’re here.  That’s a profound moment to have.  It puts a lot in perspective.”

Have you begun talking about more kids? “Hallie Ray is already talking about number two.  I kinda kid with her by saying ‘This one’s not good enough?  You need another one?’  But I can’t imagine two.  I know I will lose that argument. It’s already been lost.”

He wrapped up his tour in October, and is off for the rest of the year: “I intentionally end my tour in the middle of October so I can take advantage of deer season.  It’s that time of year, we worked really hard this year, so we earned all the time we’re gonna spend in the woods.”

At one point, Parker mentioned he recently went on something he called “the greatest golf trip in the history of the game.”  Lon had to ask about it: “I can’t really elaborate on that Lon.”  Which was all he had to say.  “It was at a wonderful place with three high profile individuals.”  Lon asked if one of them was Peyton Manning. “I just was with Peyton at the Broncos-Giants game.  He left with 6 minutes to go.  They scored 33 points in the 4th quarter to win 33-30.  I sent him a text with the big emoji eyes.  He just laughed.”

Lon said he was surprised about Parker’s choice of cars in the What Kinda Man video: “You know, I had a feeling you might bring that up.  I did probably 80% of the driving in the video.  They had a stunt driver for the night shots.  We shot it in a town called Anthony Kansas. The police officers between scenes let me rip it down the road.  It was fun to do something like that.  That was me gettin’ sideways.”

Parker also has great stories this week about Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Corey Kent, George Birge, Hudson Westbrook, and Tyler Hubbard.
