Hardy Co-Hosts 9/20-21

| September 15, 2025

The co-host this wknd is Hardy, who is in the Top 30 with “Favorite Country Song.” He will release a new album next Friday called “Country! Country!” He & his wife are the parents of a 6 month old baby girl named Rosie. Plus he also wrote the current hit by Morgan Wallen.

Hardy told Lon that both his single and new album are tributes to his hometown: “I went home, not physically but mentally, a lot for this record.  Back to Philadelphia Mississippi.  ‘Favorite Country Song,’ every lyric of it exists there in one place or another.  I try to give people a snapshot of the world I grew up in.  This record shows a lot of that.”

Hardy & his wife Caleigh are parents of a 6 month old baby girl named Rose: “It’s amazing. She’s been such a great baby. She slept through the night last night.  We had to sleep train her.  She’s back to a good schedule. There’s something so awesome about having a baby girl.  She’s just the cutest little thing.  She makes me so happy.”

Hardy performed Homeboy at the ACM Honors for Eric Church. He explained why: “That song, if my life was a movie, that song would be in the first 15 minutes.  I had just moved to Nashville, and I heard Homeboy, and it changed my life.  If this is what country music is, then this is who I am.  That was my big bang, hearing that song on the radio.”

Hardy toured with Ella Langley last year, and he says they’ve become good friends: “I love what she’s doing. I’ve been writing with her, and she’s focused on her sound.  A song we wrote recently is really cool, it’s really different, she’s all about it, it’s got a cool vibe, and it fits her thing, I can’t wait to see how much she grows.”

Hardy has a second song in this week’s Top 30: It’s “I Got Better,” a song he wrote with Morgan Wallen: “He didn’t tell me he was putting this out as a single. As a writer, I’m excited. We wrote it on a hunting trip.  We wrote 5 or 6 songs on that same trip.  Ernest said something funny, and that turned into something else that turned into ‘I got better since she’s been gone.’  Just one of those random things, just happy to be a part of it.”

Hardy also has great stories this week about Tyler Hubbard, Bailey Zimmerman, Keith Urban, and Lainey Wilson.

NEXT WEEK: Scotty McCreery
