On The Road With Band Perry

| February 5, 2012

The Band Perry are a family band.  They travel as a family, often with one of their parents.  When they co-hosted Country Countdown USA, Lon Helton asked if they all travel together on one tour bus.  Kimberly answered: “Our ‘fleet’ has two.  Our band and crew is on one bus, and then the three of us, our mother, and our cousin, who’s helping us, are on our bus.  We have a good time.  The best day for our band was when we got our own bus.  They had a party and everything.  They were way more interested in having legroom.  At that point we had 13 people on a 12-person bus.  So someone was sleeping on the couch.  And it was me and my mother with 11 guys!  It’s a big Perry Posse on the road.

Who gets the stateroom?  Kimberly?  “Our backroom is a lounge.  We use it for songwriting. We’re all in bunks.  If we had a stateroom, our mother would get it.  As it should be.”  Reid says, “The women like the room warm.  Neil and I like it freezing.  We have two thermostats.  So Neil and I are on one side with temperature at 65, and the other side is on 90.

Top middle or bottom bunk? Kimberly is in the middle.  Reid is is the middle on the other side.  Neil is on the top.  “I was excited getting the top bunk, but now I’m starting to hurt from climbing up.”
