Band Perry Loves Aerosmith

| July 1, 2011

In May, Lauren Alaina performed The Band Perry’s #1 hit “If I Due Young” on American Idol.  That put the song in front of over 30 million people.  But there was one person in particular the Band Perry wanted to impress.  Kimberly told Lon Helton of Country Countdown USA they were excited that it was heard by Idol judge Steven Tyler. “We cut our teeth on rock & roll courtesy of our dad, and country music was the love of our mother, so Steven Tyler has been a hero of ours, so it was cool he heard our song on the American Idol stage.”

Lon then asked how they felt when Steven Tyler performed with Carrie Underwood at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April. “We were actually at the Mandalay Bay but you could feel the energy when he came out.  We saw Carrie rehearse earlier that day, and she was rehearsing without him.  No one knew until that day that he was coming.  She’d leave out the parts that he was going to sing.  So we were watching the show, and he walked out, it was incredible.  Our fiddle player actually saw Steven Tyler in the hotel earler that day, and it didn’t register.  He didn’t know who it was.
