Kane Brown Co-Hosts 6/14-15
The co-host this wknd is Kane Brown, who is in our Top 10 with “Backseat Driver.” The song was written by the brother of Jordan Davis. Lon plays audio from Jordan explaining why he didn’t record it, and instead passed it to Kane. Plus Kane says he will have new music out very soon.
As Kane came into the studio, the topic of body building came up. Kane said, “I lost 20 pounds. I started fasting and losing weight a couple weeks ago. You gotta watch what you eat. Now I just have water, rice, protean, and no sugar. No soda, alcohol, or anything like that. I feel great, I have a lot of energy. I want to see how shredded I can get.”
During the conversation, Kane said he has played golf at Michael Jordan’s course: “It’s an annual trip for me to go there. I was out there golfing, and Michael Jordan was out driving his own golf cart. He’s smoking a cigar, pulls up to me, says ‘What’s up, Kane?’ Shakes my hand. I feel like the coolest guy on the planet. Then he drives off.”
Lon asked about this new movie, “The Token Groomsman:” “We’ve been talking about it. It’s with Taylor Lautner. It supposedly shoots in Italy. I haven’t been to Italy. It hasn’t shot yet. Me & you have the same information. But I think we’ll do it either the end of this year or early next year.”
When the guys from the band LoCash were Lon’s co-host, they talked about a song on their new album that featured Kane. Apparently things changed since then: “They cut that song, but I never ended up getting on it. If they release it to radio, I’ll get on it. I was on tour, so I wasn’t able to cut it. I’m a terrible person!”
On Friday, Kane will release a new song called “2 Pairs.” He told Lon, “This song is uptempo, fun, and the boot-stomping version of Nelly’s Air Force Ones. It’s 2 pairs of Luchese’s. The song is mainly about shoes. But whatever you love and splurge on when you get your check. It’s gonna be the next single, it’ll be song of the summer. I’m really pumped about this song. I think it’ll be a whole new wave for me.”
Kane also has great stories this week about Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Tyler Hubbard, John Morgan, and Parmalee.
NEXT WEEK: Katie Neal fills in for Lon, and her co-host is Corey Kent.
