Jon Pardi Co-Hosts 4/19-20
The co-host this wknd is Jon Pardi, who just released a new album: Honky Tonk Hollywood. The album includes his current hit “Friday Night Heartbreaker.” He is about to begin a major tour with Corey Kent. He just returned from a tour of Australia.
Jon recently added his second daughter: Sienna: “They’re 18 months apart. Presley is 2, so she’s always coloring, she loves her books, she likes to have us read to her. She’s a smart little girl.”
Jon told Lon that Kane Brown is encouraging him to go for a third baby: “Kane goes, ‘Gotta do the third, it’s gonna be a boy. We were worried. It happened for us.’ I said, ‘There’s no guarantee it’s not gonna be another girl.’ He said, ‘Naw it’s gonna be a boy.’ We’re just enjoying our two kids now.”
Jon just returned from a two-week tour of Australia: “So much fun. We did three shows plus the CMC Rocks festival. Everybody loved to party. They sing every song. They’re so happy that we’re there. That’s something we don’t get in the States. It’s a long trip.”
Jon was happy to see Kenny Chesney go into the Country Music Hall of Fame: “I’m glad it happened now. His greatest hits was the soundtrack of my high school. I feel that set him up to do stadiums. He’s shaped country music. I was glad to hear that he’s getting in there.”
Jon’s new album was just released, and it was partly inspired by Tom Petty: “I saw the documentary on his life, and he said he likes to switch up producers every few records. Here was Tom Petty dropping some knowledge for me. So we made this record with Jay Joyce, and turned in this fabulous record.”
Jon also has great stories this week about Tyler Hubbard, Jackson Dean, Dustin Lynch, LoCash, Corey Kent, and Lainey Wilson.
NEXT WEEK: Blake Shelton
