Currington On Kip: He’s Crazy!

Billy Currington and Kip Moore toured together last year, so the two had a chance to talk about their mutual love of Hawaii and surfing.  So when Billy co-hosted Country Countdown USA this weekend, Lon Helton played him part of a conversation with Kip.  In it, Kip talked about the time he spent living in Hawaii: “I loved there for quite a while, and I give Billy a hard time about that.  I tell him, ‘You didn’t do it like I did.  You didn’t do it as rough as I did.’  I was outside, I got rained on, I slept outside for months.  Then I backpacked all over the island to different surf spots.  But Billy sends me these texts about Savannah, saying ‘We got 6 footers, 7 footers,’ and I’m like, this guy’s exaggerating.  I’ve been to Savannah, and I never saw a 7 foot wave in Savannah.  But I give him a hard time about it.”

Billy reacted this way: “Man he’s lost his mind!  He’s crazy.  He talks about living in Hawaii, he lived there for two weeks!  Sleeping in the rain?  He’s crazy.  And yes, we got 7 foot, 8, even 10 footers some times.  Every time I tell him we got a big swell coming, he’s too busy.  But he’s a good ole boy.  Our breaks are pretty big sometimes, when South Carolina doesn’t have them, we have them.  Especially during hurricane season.  But he’s lying about living in Hawaii, sleeping in the rain.  He lived there for two weeks!  He’s trying to make himself look like some hardcore guy who roughed it and now he’s doin’ good.  Kip, you crazy, boy!”
