McGraw Ready For The Road

The Brothers of the Sun tour begins next week, and Tim McGraw says he’s ready. “I’m ready, the band’s ready.  Got some great new players, along with the old Dance Hall Doctors, sort of a combination of guys.  It was time for a change, time for a different sound, different direction, we haven’t really come up with a name for ’em yet.  But there’s a lot of great pickers along with three of the original Dance Hall Doctors, so we’re looking forward to going out with a new energy.”

Tim McGraw spoke with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton about the Brothers of the Sun tour.  “It’s gonna be fun.  Kenny & I have been friends for over 20 years.  We lived close to each other.  He & I spent a lot of time sleepin’ on each other’s floors, depending on who’s electricity was cut off at the time.  I remember meeting Kenny at a little restaurant called Mac’s, a little meat & three place near close to Music Row, I met him with a common songwriter friend of ours.  We instantly became friends and did a lot of running around together.  I remember Kenny as being a great songwriter, that was where his focus was at the time.  One of the few times I did showcases, I did a couple of Kenny’s songs that he had written.”
