Blake Previews The Voice Season 2

| October 28, 2011

We’re just a few days away from Halloween, but Blake Shelton is getting ready for Season 2 of the NBC-TV reality show “The Voice.”  He tells Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that he is about to begin taping the preliminary rounds right now.  Season 2 will debut on February 5th, 2012, right after the Super Bowl.  “By the time the show airs, all the blind autitions are pre-taped, the battle rounds, and all the reality stuff that goes around it are all pre-taped.  One change this year, instead of 8 singers per team, there will be 12.   So the process will take longer.”

As a result, Blake will be renting a home in Los Angeles.  He explained it to Lon, “Buying a home is a lot more money than renting, and it also means I’m a resident.  That’s concrete to me, and I can’t get comfortable knowing I own a place in Los Angeles.  If I rent, I know I’m leaving and going back to Oklahoma.  It just makes me feel better.  It’s amazing as the show goes on how much people began to recognize me as the show became more popular.  So I can’t walk through a hotel lobby any more.”
