Blake on CMA: I Knew I Won

Last November, Blake Shelton was named CMA Entertainer of the Year.  He received the award from his friend Reba McEntire.  Blake told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton he got a signal from Reba the minute she opened the envelope: “I knew before anybody else that I had won Entertainer of the Year because of that look on Reba’s face when she cracked open the envelope.  I know her so well, she would have put on her ‘I’m happy for you’ smile for anybody else.  But I knew that look, I knew what she was reading, and then it was the coolest thing ever.  Especially at this point in my career.  If you don’t get to this level quickly, you almost don’t get there.  That night, it was like, after all this time, it was just shocking, I think it was shocking for everybody.  Then to win Male Vocalist again, I didn’t think I’d get that again. I think it’s time for Luke to start winning that.  But I’m glad I won!”
