The #1 Song of 2024

The #1 Song of 2024 is “World On Fire” by Nate Smith. Country Countdown USA host Lon Helton was at Nate’s Nashville show where he gave Nate a plaque commemorating the milestone. Afterwards, Lon spoke to Nate about having the #1 song of the year. Nate’s response: “Dude, unreal! That is unreal. I can’t believe it. I went to my studio already to look at it and I saw all those amazing songs on that whole list, and I was like, how did we win? How did we get #1? That’s so crazy. It’s so much support from country radio to make that happen. That was a decision that was made across the board. It’s like, wow! Just an amazing honor. It’s going to be in country music history that in 2024 World On Fire was the #1 song. That’s so cool!

We should also say that Bulletproof was #20, so you had two in the Top 20: Gosh, and so much support, I feel like from Day 1 at Key West when I met radio for the first time and played Whiskey On You for everybody. I feel like right away I built friendships with everybody. We’re all supporting each other, and it means a lot. I just wanted to say thank you to you, Lon, and everybody at Country Aircheck, it’s just an honor to be on this journey with you guys. I feel your love and support every single day. You guys are making a difference in a lot of lives. That means the world to me.
