Jason Aldean Returns 5/24-25

This week, Jason Aldean returns as Lon’s co-host. His current Top 5 is Whiskey Drink. He begins his Full Throttle Tour this wknd. He has become friends with President Trump and says he even has his phone number! Lots more this week!

Jason kicks off his Full Throttle Tour this week.  Other than a few special shows, he’s been off since October.  Lon asked when he starts to go crazy: “Usually around March.  That’s when the weather starts getting nice, and I start getting the itch to get back on stage.”

So with all the time off, is the golf handicap in single digits?  No not at all.  I hope it is by the end of the year.  But I’ve got a ways to go. Golf for me was not a sport I played til I got older.  I hit the ball far, but don’t know where it’s going.”

Lon asked about all the time Jason has spent with President Trump: “We went from Crash My Play in Mexico to the Inauguration, where it was snowing.  First time we played for a president. It was a cool thing, a thing you check off the list.”

Where did that start? “Somebody reached out to us a few years ago, he wasn’t in office.  They invited us to Mar-a-Lago, then invited to play golf, the convention, and the inauguration.  For the convention, I was just there rehearsing, when they asked me to sit in his box with his family.  I wasn’t even dressed for the occasion.  Just in a t-shirt & jeans.”

Apparently they’ve stayed in touch: “It’s become a cool friendship, I don’t call him all the time.” Lon asked if he has his phone number. “I do.  He’s not much of a texter but I will call him from time to time.  He’s more a pick up the phone and call kind of guy.”  

How about golf?  Do you bet with him? “No, he’s pretty good. I feel he’d take my money.  He’s a pretty good golfer.”
