Dylan Scott Co-Hosts 3/22-23

The co-host this week is Dylan Scott, who’s in our Top 5 with “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us.” Lon is off this weekend, so Dylan co-hosts with Katie Neal. Dylan is about to kick off the biggest headline tour of his career. He also just had a #1 duet with Dylan Marlowe.

As he walked in the studio, he told Katie he’s building a new house: “We bought some land two years ago, and we’ve been building a house.  It’s almost done.  I get to raise my kids at a forever house, and that’s what we wanted.  I have the easy part.  It’s whatever my wife wants.”

Earlier this year, Dylan performed at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa in Mexico: “It was good. Anytime you can go to Mexico with Luke Bryan is a good time.  My wife stayed home with the baby, so it was just me & the band.”

Katie asked if he has any drunk Luke Bryan stories: “It wasn’t Luke this time.  It was Bailey Zimmerman in the pool.  Bailey had the time of his life.  He rallied, too, which was pretty impressive.”

Jason Aldean was also there this year.  Katie asked if Dylan got to hang with Jason: “We hung out for quite a bit.  I got to tell Jason a story.  When I was 13 or 14, I was at the mall with my mom, and I spotted Jason in the mall. He was playing a show that night in the Civic Center.  I was too shy to speak to him, buy my mom walked up to him.  So I got to tell him that story.  He thought it was a cool story.  He said, ‘Man that makes me feel old.'” 

Next month, Dylan kicks off his Country Til I Die tour: “This is the biggest headline tour I’ve ever done.  We’ve got more lights and more stuff.  There’s a lot of stuff I want, until I see the price.  I went to Disneyland in November.  That’s a bad place to go when you’re planning a tour.  We didn’t spend the Disney money, but it’ll be fun.”

Will he take his kids on the road? “I am this year.  My kids are at an age where they need to experience this.  We’ll see how it goes.”

Katie asked about the actor who portrays Dylan in the video: “That’s my nephew.  My sister’s son.  It was so cool.  The whole video is in my hometown.  That was my high school. The house was my old house.  The house where my nephew kisses the girl is my wife’s old house.  That’s where we kissed for the first time.”

Dylan will play a show with Brad Paisley this summer: “I’m really looking forward to that.  I’ve never played a show with him or even met him.  When I was dating my wife, I sang his song ‘She’s Everything’ for her.  I think that sealed the deal, so thank you Brad!”
