Jordan Davis Co-Hosts 2/22-23

The co-host this wknd is Jordan Davis, who’s in our Top 5 with “I Ain’t Sayin.'” He & wife Kristen just announced they’re expecting their fourth child. He & his family just returned from a one-month tour of Australia with Luke Combs.

Jordan said he was on tour in Australia when he announced baby #4: “We were in Brisbane. I’m hoping 4 is where we cap it.  We gotta stop this.  But we’re excited. Hopefully June, we’ll have our 4th, so it’s gonna be a good year.”

Lon asked if they know if it’s a boy or a girl: “We’ve been surprised on all of them but one.  With my second, I needed to find out if it was a boy. We found out with my oldest boy, but with the others, we were surprised.  We’re gonna be surprised on this one too.

Lon asked about the personalities of the other three kids: “Luckily my daughter loves being helpful.  She’s such a kind, sweet soul. My middle one is a wrecking ball. He’s rough & tumble, loves trucks.  Eli seems like me. He’s super chill. It’s cool to see the personalities develop. 

Jordan just got back from a one-month tour of Australia: “It was the first country stadium tour in Australia. Turns out Luke Combs is big everywhere!  I think every show was over 70,000 people.  It’s a passionate fan base.  That will not be my last tour there.”

Lon asked if he had time to see the sights: “The house we were staying in was on a canal.so I’d go on there and kayak.  I posted pictures, and people told me the canals are filled with bull sharks.”

Jordan told this story when we got to Backseat Driver by Kane Brown: “My brother is a co-writer on this song.  I heard this song before Kane.  The day they wrote it, my brother sent it to me.  At that time, my song out was Next Thing You Know.  This song was too much like that.  My brother told me it was a special song, and didn’t want it to end up as an album cut.  The first person he sent it to was Kane.  So it’s cool.  One of the happiest I’ve ever been when a buddy cuts a song by your brother, and the world loves it too.”
