Riley Green Co-Hosts 1/25-26
The co-host this wknd is Riley Green, who’s in our Top 10 with “Damn Good Day To Leave.” He just had a #1 with Ella Langley on “You Look Like You Love Me.” He also just opened a Nashville bar called Riley Green’s Duck Blind.
In speaking about the duet, Riley said: “It was really organic. I knew Ella, we were going on tour together, thought it would be cool to have a song together. I wrote a verse, and sent it to her, and they liked the idea, and it worked out very well.”
He went on to say, “I was happy it became the hit that it is, because it’s such a traditional song, it’s cool to see there’s room for that kind of song with talking verses. It’s cool that it’s that different. It doesn’t sound like anything else on the radio.”
Riley now has his own bar: Riley Green’s Duck Blind.” Lon asked him about it: “That bar was where I met everybody in town I know. I played some of my first shows there. So when they asked me about a bar, I didn’t have an interest in downtown. That bar was where I got my start. To now have my name on it is so cool.”
Riley told Lon he’s had a few guests at his bar, including Post Malone: “He comes by the bar, me & him will get behind the bar and fix drinks and bartend for a little while. I spend a lot of time there. I think that’s why these people go to these artist bars.”
This week’s #1 is “Boys Back Home” by Dylan Marlowe & Dylan Scott. It’s Marlowe’s first #1, so Lon called him to congratulate him.
Riley also has great stories this week about Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, Luke Combs, Kenny Chesney, and Zach Top.
