The day of Thanksgiving is celebrated in the USA on the last Thursday of November. The history of it goes back to English tradition during the 1500s. The pilgrims and puritans brought the tradition here. The first president, George Washington, proclaimed the first Thanksgiving in 1789. It was made a national holiday by Abraham Lincoln in 1863.

Many country songs are appropriate for the holiday, as they include lines about giving thanks. These are the Top 10 Thanksgiving songs.

#10: Lucky Man: This Montgomery Gentry song has is sung by Eddie Montgomery, and has become a personal favorite of his through the years. Originally released in 2007, Eddie redid the song with Darius Rucker in 2018.

#9: Thank God For Kids: This song is one of the rare Oak Ridge Boys songs where the lead is done by William Lee Golden. It was actually written by another country star: Eddy Raven. Many others have recorded the song, including Kenny Chesney.
