Tyler Hubbard Co-Hosts 11/2-3

| October 28, 2024

The co-host this wknd is Tyler Hubbard, who is currently on his first solo headline tour. He had a #1 earlier this year with “Back Then Right Now.” It’s from his second solo album, “Strong.” He spent the first part of the year on the road with Kane Brown, and talks about that experience. Plus stories about a lot of his friends in this week’s Top 30.

Tyler is approaching this tour with one goal: “This being my first headline tour, we’re building the show around a narrative that this is my life. We’re really connecting the dots more for the fans to get to know me.  It’s been fun to build that.”

Tyler was a writer on the current song by Chris Janson: “That song has a fun story. I wrote this song in 2020, it was when I had covid, I was living on my bus and wrote a bunch of songs.  So I was listening back to those songs, and thought about sending it to Chris.  He heard it and called me and made a few tweaks.  So I hope it’s a big one for Chris.”

Tyler spent the summer opening for Kane Brown.  It was a full circle moment, because Kane opened for FGL.  Lon asked what he observed in Kane’s show now: “When we first took Kane out, he was a kid, and now he’s a man.  He’s been a sponge the whole time.  Now he’s got a family and a lot to work for.  It’s not the story you always hear, but the one you wish for.”

Another familiar name in the chart for Tyler is Morgan Wallen.  Morgan began his career with a #1 duet with FGL.  Now Tyler says he’s trying to learn from Morgan: “It’s been fun to watch, I hear him on the radio every time I get in the car, I’ve always been a fan of his, so it’s fun to see it win, to see it work, and I’m super happy for Morgan.”

Tyler will end this tour at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium: “It’ll be a great way to wrap up a great year. I’ll play a special show in a special place. It’s my first official headline show in Nashville. We’ll celebrate the whole tour and the whole year that night.”

Tyler also has great stories this week about Tim McGraw, Lainey Wilson, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Jelly Roll, and Dan & Shay.
