Luke Bryan Returns 10/5-6

This wknd, Luke Bryan returns for a second week as Lon’s co-host. It was just announced on Monday that Luke & Peyton Manning will return as co-hosts of the CMA Awards. This year, they’re adding a THIRD member: Lainey Wilson. Luke tells Lon about the decision and what he expects Lainey to add to the show.

They will have a third co-host: Lainey Wilson. “We are now a trio!  We’ve somehow, Peyton & I, have talked Lainey into joining us. What a rise to superstardom she’s had, we’re so excited to start.”

Lon asked how it came together: “When the producer Robert Deaton came to us, he said, ‘I’m thinkin’ about adding Lainey.’ We said, ‘Why would you not?’  Now that Peyton & I have a couple years under belt, it goes pretty smoothly. We just have to work Lainey in the mix.”

Luke just wrapped up his 15th annual Farm Tour: It’s still rockin’ strong. It’s a fun time of year, and we set up a scholarship for a kid from a farming background.  Through the years we’ve changed lives, grew it organically, and we enjoy doing it every year.”

Lon got the Bo & Tate Update: “Bo is the second string quarterback.  He’s in tenth grade.  Tate is seriously into golf. But lately, he’s been obsessed with deer.  He’s sitting there watching deer.  It’s not deer season.  He videos them.  He’s got a buddy, and it’s their thing.  They love it.”

As Luke was coming in the studio, he told us something we didn’t know:  “I was at Publix the other day.” Lon interrupted: You were at Publix?  How long does it take you to go through Publix? “I took three pictures with kids.  I love to cook, and there’s something fun about walking through a store, picking out your own stuff, trying new brands of canned tomatoes.  I make my own spaghetti sauce.”  So there you have it.
