Brett Young Co-Hosts 7/13-14

| July 8, 2024

The co-host this weekend on Country Countdown USA is Brett Young, who’s current Top 30 hit is Dance With You. The video for the song features Brett’s young daughters. Brett is on the road all summer, and will launch a big tour in the fall. Brett recently celebrated Diamond Certification for his hit ”In Case You Didn’t Know.”

Lon began the show by commenting on Brett’s summer attire: ”I came straight from the gym.  I squeezed it in.  I’ve been sweating all day. Why change now?”

Brett explained the idea behind his current hit Dance With You: ”When I found my wife, I was willing to do anything, even if I didn’t like doing it.  One of those things is dancing, because I hate to dance.  But I will dance with my wife because it makes her happy.”

The video features Brett’s young daughters: “It’s shocking to me that was a 3-1/2 minute video, because that dancing went for what felt like 12 hours. They had never been in a studio before. They didn’t want to get off that set. It was really special.”

Brett was on tour with Sam Hunt earlier this year: “We both have sports in our background. We both allowed our careers to put a pause on our relationships.  I’m happy for him that he got his girl back. I got to see Sam blow up a year after I did.  It was cool to open some shows for him.”

Brett sang “Don’t Take The Girl” when Tim McGraw received the ACM Icon award. “That has always been a special song for me. It was very emotional for me. He and his family were in the front row looking at me. Faith really looked emotional.  I blacked out. I don’t remember the performance.  That was so meaningful and special for me.

Brett took part in the CRS celebrity ping pong tournament this year: “I’m too competitive to enjoy these things. I can in second all three times I’ve done it. I lost to Chris Lane this year.  It’s always a busy week, and it’s a great way to cap it off with some ping pong.”

Brett also has great stories this week about Jason Aldean, Ashley Cooke, Chris Janson, Dan + Shay, and Shaboozey.

NEXT WEEK: Chris Stapleton
