Kane & Katelyn Brown Co-Host 2/11-12
This week, Kane Brown returns and brings a special guest: His wife and duet partner Katelyn Brown. She told Lon how she got started in music: “I’ve been doing music since I was a little girl. I had vocal lessons, I did piano, but I wanted to go to college, so I went to the Berklee College of Music.”=
Katelyn went on to say that Kane had been looking for a duet for them to do together for a long time: “We met through music, it was one of the things that bonded us. Over the years Kane brought home multiple songs. Then when Thank God came along, I’ll never forget, we realized this was it. It was perfect.”
Lon asked if this duet has rejuvenated her interest in music: “Yes, when we got in the studio, I realized I missed that. Because I loved the creating part. In fact, we’re building a studio next to the house, it’s like we put the kids to bed, and we can see what we come up with.”
Lon asked Katelyn what it’s been like performing the duet on tour: “We performed it for the first time in Canada. That’s the scary part for me. I don’t know how Kane does it. But I did it. I knew if I didn’t, I’d beat myself up for not facing my fears. I just hope it gets easier.”
Kane talked about the basketball court he built at his house: “The basketball court is like a huge warehouse. Like 25,000 square feet. I have a gym in there. I partnered with Planet Fitness, sauna, bunk room for my band, locker room, rehearsal space for my band, and then a golf simulator in the garage.”
Lon asked about the golf simulator: The one I got, the floor moves. When you hit the ball, the ball goes underneath the floor, and the tee pucks the ball back up. It has texture for sand or high grass. If you’re in the hills, the floor will slant down so the ball is beneath your feet. It’s like the most accurate thing you can play.”
Katelyn told Lon that Kane is a great father to the two girls: “He does everything, diaper duty, he’s an awesome dad, he’s present as much as he can with his career. He was gone for a few months. But when he’s home, he makes up for it.”
Kane & Katelyn also has great stories this week about Jon Pardi, Morgan Wallen, Walker Hayes, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Dustin Lynch.
