Luke Bryan Returns 12/3-4

| November 28, 2022

This week, Luke Bryan returns for more co-host conversation with Lon.  Luke continued sharing backstage stories from this year’s CMA Awards: “I think Peyton’s best joke was the ‘Plead the 5th’ joke, I won’t plead the 5th, but I’ll drink a 5th. I had a good one about Peyton where we couldn’t find a hat big enough for your head. Peyton had fun, he was excited to be in the room.”

Luke said he ran into Cody Johnson moments after he won CMA Single of the Year: “I think I just high-fived him and told him ‘great job.’  He was super-pumped. Watching him interact with his crew, his producer, their intensity was so inspiring and fun, and that’s what the night’s all about…showcasing the next generation.”

Next on Luke’s schedule is his residency in Las Vegas: “I love the intimacy of that theater. It’s a 5000 seat theater, but it feels intimate, state of the art technology. Being out there during the rodeo is always a great time for country music, with all the cowboys and cowgirls.  Then we’ll continue in the new year.  It was a busy year this year, but it’s gonna be a busy year next year too.”

Then in January, Luke hosts his 8th annual Crash My Playa festival in Mexico: “It may be the highlight of the year.  It’s grown every year.  Chris Stapleton will be there this year, happy to have him down, Brian Kelley of FGL, Dustin Lynch is the Mayor of Playa.  It’s been an amazing festival.  The fans have a good time, and they drink enough to last them through the rest of the year.”

Luke also wanted to talk about Blake Shelton: “Getting the news that Blake’s leaving The Voice. We’ve talked about our careers in those roles.  Blake was a big reason why I decided to do American Idol. him stepping down from The Voice, I know he’s ready, he’s ready to move to the next chapter.  It’s gotta be a good feeling. I wish him nothing but the best, and I thank him for paving the way for there to be a voice of country music on TV like that.

So looking at Luke’s schedule, we see a small break between the Vegas residency and Crash My Playa.  Where might we find Luke then? “I’ll be in a duck blind somewhere.”

Luke also has great stories this week about Jason Aldean, Jon Pardi, Dustin Lynch, Jordan Davis, and Thomas Rhett.

NEXT WEEK: Jimmie Allen
