Zac Brown’s Family Vacation

| August 8, 2015

Zac Brown wifeIt might be hard to think of Zac Brown in the role of Clark Griswold, driving his family across America in a station wagon.  But Zac told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that he’s combining some tour dates with family trips, as he takes his five children to see some historic sites.  “”We’re taking them on the great American road trip, learning some American history in the places it actually happened.  When we go to Boston, we’re going early so they can learn about some of the history there.  We’re also going to DC and visit the monuments.  I didn’t care about history when I was in school, but now I’m curious.  Hopefully we can teach them in a way that I didn’t have.”  In fact Zac and his family are in Boston this weekend.  He’ll head to Washington DC and Philadelphia next week.

Zac added he’s not just taking his kids to historic locations in the United States.  He’s taking them to Europe as well: “We’re going to Paris, doing a little business but taking the whole family.  They all have little t-shirts with the Eiffel Tower on them.  We’ll show ’em some stuff first hand, which ought to be a lot of fun. I’m excited to see that, there are some amazing wonders that came through France.”

Zac’s concerts in Boston, DC, and Philadelphia will take place in baseball parks.  He’s also going to Chicago’s Wrigley Field next month.  “The baseball stadiums are amazing.  We were the first to play Coors Field in Denver, almost 43,000 people, and it was beautiful. We’ve got Wrigley and Fenway, those are big deals, big stadiums full of awesome fans, the folks in that city like to get down and have fun, they choose us for the night, and that’s an honor for us.  We’re in the locker rooms, that’s pretty fun, they get jerseys made with our names on them, growing up a baseball fan, so it’s fun being around that.  Beautiful fields.  Lotta pride in those cities.”

By the way, speaking of Zac’s five kids, he gave us an update on his son Alexander, who celebrated his first birthday in May:  “He’s getting long and lean.  He’s still chunky, but not quite as chunky.  He was a Buddha at first, he’s fun, he’s starting to talk, he’s crawling everywhere, he’s like a raccoon, he’s into everything. He makes the girls laugh, he knows what makes ’em laugh, and that’s what he wants to do, so he’s entertaining everybody.”
