American Music Award Winners
One surprise at this year’s American Music Awards was in the category of Country Album. That award was won by Brantley Gilbert, over Garth Brooks and Eric Church. Brantley’s “Just As I Am” was released in May, and has already sold over 600,000 copies.
Country Female was won by Carrie Underwood. Country Male was won for the second year by Luke Bryan. Country Duo or Group was won by Florida Georgia Line.
Garth Brooks had the lone country performance in the show, doing “People Loving People” from his concert in Greensboro, NC.
Taylor Swift was presented the first-ever Dick Clark Award of Excellence.
