Visit Brad Paisley’s Home Bar

| August 9, 2014

Brad BarWhen Brad Paisley does anything, he does it all the way.  So when Brad decided he wanted to build a British style pub in his home studio, he wanted it to be authentic.  To do that, he invited his carpenter to join him when he toured England earlier this year.  That way, he could show the carpenter exactly what he wanted in his own pub.   It’s built in the enclosed front porch of the farm house that also contains his recording studio.  That’s Brad’s father, Doug Paisley, on the far left.  Brad says it’s his father’s favorite spot.  Anyway, Brad talked about his new bar with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton:

So are you happy with the way the bar turned out?  “It’s really just one of the coolest spots, it’s a cross between an old English pub and a southern sports bar.  I can pour the perfect Guinness.  Here’s a picture.  You can see a shamrock in the top.Brad Guinnes

Did you go to bartender school?  Not yet, I’ve done it all online.  I’m ready to go though.  But here’s a picture of the bar.  It’s all hand-cut maple done by a woodworker friend of mine.  I was asked in an interview what I miss when I’m not in Tennessee, and it’s that bar.

How did your new bar affect the making of your album, Moonshine in the Trunk:  “Alcohol flows through the entire album, because we built the bar in our studio, which changed things.  We have the best sports bar in Franklin TN, except it’s private.  Vibe is everything.   It’s one thing to have a great place to record, but it’s another to have a great place to create.   When recorded the album Wheelhouse there, it was already sounding great, it had a great vibe because it’s an old farm house.  But now we did this record, and it’s the kind of place where we’re done with the album, and we still hang out there.  The other night, we were going to Illinois for a show, and the band met there at 11 PM, the buses were leaving at midnight, and they were pretty blitzed by the time the buses left.  I was pouring drinks, drawing the perfect Guinness, and that’s the way to go.  They didn’t have to drive anywhere, the busses took us to the show.”
