Dierks Previews The Riser Tour

| March 30, 2014

Dierks 1-18-13Dierks Bentley is a road warrior.  He always has been.  Whether he co-headlines, as he did last year with Miranda Lambert, or headlines his own show, as he’s doing this year, Dierks wants to give the best show possible.  This year’s Riser Tour will begin on May 9th in Charlotte, but Dierks has already spent the part two months planning it.  He shared what fans can expect with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton:

Talk about this tour: I want this to be the best tour of all time for us.  I just left a meeting, and I get so excited at these meetings, because we talk about the set list, then we talk about the production, video, and lights, and just trying to come up with new ways to reach out to the fans.  I want our show to stick, and the first thing is getting the right people to go out there with you.  So this year we have Chris Young, Chase Rice, and Jon Pardi, and I feel like that’s the right line-up of people.  But for me, I’m approaching this tour like it’s our last tour.  Like it’s the only tour we’re ever gonna do.  Let’s go big or go home.  So we’re throwing a lot at it, visually it’s going to be our biggest look.  But it’s exciting.  It’s going to be a fun summer for sure.

Besides the stage and the lights, what else is going on with the Riser Tour?  We’re going to have a thing going on in the parking lots this year.  We’re going to have a tailgate scene, pre-party area, where I’m going to go out in my little jeep I carry with me.  Go check out the scene out there and bring it back with me on stage.  I can’t wait.  I love the guys going out with me, the band is ready, and it’ll be the best summer of my life.

So fans may even see you in the parking lot? Absolutely, that’s why I bring that jeep CJ7 out there with me.  I can go out, see who’s tailgating, what’s going on, surprise some fans, hang out with fans, maybe funnel a beer, just se what they’re doing, bring that energy back, and it fires me up to get on stage.
