Lee Brice Welcomes 2nd Son
Lee Brice is having quite a weekend. On Friday he received a Grammy nomination for his #1 song “I Drive Your Truck.” Then on Sunday, he & his wife Sara welcomed their second son, Ryker Mobley Brice. He tweeted this picture, with these words: “A week ago I didn’t think I could be any happier. I was wrong. Our bran new baby boy Ryker Mobley Brice was born healthy, My heart is full. Sara is the strongest and most amazing woman I know.. She did so good and He is perfect.”
We saw Lee & Sara during CMA Week one month ago, and he told us everything appeared to be on schedule: “He’s hefty but sweet, she feels good, we’re excited, looking at early December, so the next five weeks will continue like it’s been going. November 30th, I’m done, and home for a month.” So the baby arrived right on time. Lee is off for the whole month, and can spend time with his newly-expanded family.
Baby Ryker joins older brother Takoda in the Brice family. When Lee co-hosted Country Countdown USA a few months ago, he and Lon Helton talked about baby names: “I can tell you one of the names is a little more Southern and normal. That’s where I come in. She’s always wanting to do something crazy. I’ll probably let her win. And I can always call my boy whatever I want to.”
This year will go down as a memorable on for Lee Brice. He had three #1 hits, toured with Brad Paisley, received a Grammy nomination, and now his second son. The new year looks equally exciting. Lee kicks off 2014 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth. Then on January 16th, he hits the road with Luke Bryan’s That’s My Kind of Night Tour.
