Chris Young Envies Brad’s Bus

| November 16, 2013

bradpaisleycoach2Chris Young has been on the road all year with Brad Paisley.  In fact, it was just announced that Chris will rejoin Brad for a winter tour in January.  Chris has spent a lot of time with Brad, on stage, off stage, and on the bus.  Chris told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton  he has a case of “bus envy,” thanks to Paisley’s custom Corvette bus: “That’s the first time I saw a bus and thought I might be jealous.  I love my bus., and haven’t seen anything from anybody else that I’d want, but his bus is really sweet.  The only thing I’ve added to my bucket list is we were coming out of a show with Brad, and he had a police escort to take him to the interstate.  He said, ‘Follow us, that way you won’t get stuck in traffic.’  So we pulled out behind him, I saw flashing lights, and it was on his bus!  He has police lights built into his bus!  That’s something you don’t think about until you get a police escort on a regular basis. But that’s something I hope I have one day.”

As you can see in the photos, Brad had his tour bus customized with photos, checkered flag design, leather bucket seats, and the Corvette logo.  It’s Brad’s favorite car.  He’s had Chevy as his tour sponsor for several years, and as a result owns a few Corvettes.  Chris Young says he’s seriously thinking about buying one himself.Brad Bus

When the tour was in Charlotte, Brad took Chris and the crew to a very exclusive go-cart track.  Brad told us several NASCAR drivers including Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch go to this track.   Chris told Lon, “I went, and got in trouble.  Brad yelled at me because evidently I was blocking.  He says, ‘I was going faster than you, but I couldn’t get around you.’  I said, ‘Isn’t that how racing is?  I think that’s legal.’  But I didn’t race with Brad again.  I was racing with everybody else.

Chris also has played poker with Brad.  He told Lon, “The other night, we all were playing poker together, and we weren’t done until 3 AM.  We just had a big poker game, and realized we had to leave for the next venue.  We play Texas Hold ’em.  I don’t even know where the chips came from.  When you’re at his level, you just say, ‘I want to play poker,’ and chips show up.  It’s nice to be the boss.”

Lon asked Chris what everyone most wants to know about Brad.  He said, “Everybody always talks about if we’re going to prank Brad, and we can’t.  We can, but we’re going to get pranked back, and it would influence how bad it is back at us.  You can’t our-prank somebody whose name is on everything, and who has more money than you.  Just about every night, there’s some kind of digitally altered photo in the encore.  But there’s not much to complain too much about Brad Paisley.  It’s a pretty easy tour to be on.  There’s not much to complain about.”
