Blake Tells Danielle’s Secret Crush
As her coach for Season 4 of The Voice, Blake Shelton got to know Danielle Bradbery pretty well. So when Danielle made it to the finals, he had a surprise. Blake explained it to Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton. “She really looks up to Hunter. Of course she’s a 16 year old girl, so besides looking up to him, she also has the biggest crush on earth. I actually taped her on my iPhone when I told her that Hunter was going to perform with her, it was definitely one of those ‘just got a pony for Christmas’ moments. She was running up and down the halls screaming. She was excited, but even better, Hunter was such a gentleman to her. And he’d hate to hear it, but those two together, it was about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.”
After Danielle won The Voice, Blake took her on his Ten Times Crazier tour, where she sang her debut song “Heart of Dixie.” Lon asked how she handled performing in front of 20,000 fans. “Danielle is so unaffected. I keep thinking, ‘Oh this will be the thing that gets her nervous, and we need to have a pep talk.’ And there’s never that thing. I thought on The Voice, there were never mistakes, never any nerves, and I thought, maybe she doesn’t get the fact that there’s 15 million people watching her. So when we started on the tour, now she’ll step on the stage and actually looking at thousands of people, and she came strolling out, singing the crap of the song, and I’d watch her from the side of the stage thinking, ‘Man she’s not human, she’s got to be a robot!'”
