Trace Adkins Honors Memorial Day

Trace FlagOne week ago, Trace Adkins was named the All Star Celebrity Apprentice.  For Memorial Day, Trace is in our Nation’s Capital to be Honorary Grand Marshall at the National Memorial Day Parade.  Trace told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton the honor came as a shock: “It’s just a huge honor, and humbling too.  It’s just one of those things where I don’t feel worthy, I will go and will represent country music, but I’ll be somewhat embarrassed the whole time I’m doing it.” The reason Trace feels that way is because he never served in the military himself.  But he has always had great respect for those who did, and has consistently used his celebrity to draw attention to the military and veterans.

He also told Lon that he feels Memorial Day is the most important holiday we celebrate: “We can never ever forget or take for granted the sacrifices that are made daily by the men and women who serve, and their families, and for the people that paid the ultimate price, made the ultimate sacrifice, and which is what Memorial Day is all about.  So I’m honored to be a part of the parade in DC, it should be an incredible event, and I look forward to it.”
