Blake Shelton’s Hollywood Home
Last August, Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton visited Blake Shelton in the Hollywood Hills home he rents while working on The Voice.” You can see more pictures and hear stories from that show HERE. This week, Blake & Lon met up again, except this time they were in Nashville. However, Lon got an update about Blake’s fancy Hollywood digs:
“It’s a little weird out there. I think we’re gonna get out of that house. The only reason I rented it was to attract Miranda. She’s not a big LA person. I thought the pool would do it. I may have told you the first time she walked in, it’s a huge house, I was so proud, I thought she’d be impressed now, think I’m somethin.’ She walked in and goes, ‘This house is stupid.’ ‘What do you mean it’s stupid?’ ‘It’s just too big.’ I said, ‘I got it for YOU!’ She said, ‘I don’t want this house!'”

Blake’s wife Miranda was our co-host a few months ago, and talked more about Blake’s house. You can hear it HERE. We played a cut for Blake where she talked about crashing her car in the driveway. Blake reacted this way: “She likes Kia’s, she’s got this certain Kia she rents in LA because she likes to drive it, and it was smashed from one end to the other by the end of the week. She would run into walls and everything. I’m sure somebody got hit and doesn’t know it, because the car wasn’t good by the time she turned it in. I can tell you that the wall didn’t run into her. It’s not anybody’s fault but Miranda’s. She can gripe about LA traffic all she wants. I didn’t see the wall move and hit her car.”

By the way, Blake recorded a lot of his new album, “Based On a True Story,” in the room you see pictured above. “My producer brought all his equipment out to LA and set up in that room where we did our interview, and what’s a shame is, if we get out of that house, we actually loved doing vocals there. It’s gonna be hard to capture that vibe and sound again. What was cool is I’d spend the day working on The Voice, get home exhausted, and me & my producer would start singing, and next thing we knew, we’d go downstairs and lay down some tracks. So when you listen to my new album, it was actually recorded in my house.”
