Blake On Life: “I’m Very Content”

Blake Shelton is a happy guy!  Married to Miranda Lambert, star of a successful TV series, and the CMA Entertainer of the Year.  He told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that all of that played a part on his new album, “Based On a True Story.”  “I’m very content right now.  It’s funny, what people assume about me is the opposite of how I live.  Like there’s constantly gossip, and magazines write things, and it’s like, Miranda & I were laughing, if people only knew what a slug I am in real life.  It’s hard to get me out of my chair anymore.  I’m 36 and I’m just content.  Who wouldn’t be?  I’m very lucky, and I know that, and I’m happy with my situation.  I do my work, and go home and watch The Weather Channel, and mix a drink, that’s kind of my life.  I’m real happy with my spot, I’m in a real good place.”

Blake’s marriage played a part in his latest music video for “Sure Be Cool If You Did.”  He told Lon, “If you notice, since Miranda & I got married, I haven’t had an intimate scene in a video with me and another girl.  But when this video came up, I wondered how I could do this and not be that guy?  Then I realized, I could run block for a bunch of other guys!  My wife is Miranda Lambert, everyone knows we’re married, and I never felt like there would be a reason for a random love interest in a video.  Everyone knows Miranda’s my wife, and I don’t want to go there.  So we’re coming up with inventive ways to have pretty girls in my videos and me not having anything to do with it.  So we decided I’ll just run block for these other guys, help them get some action, and we’ll high five about it at the end of the video.”
