Carrie, Zac, LBT Win Grammys

Grammy_AwardsNashville was well represented at this year’s Grammy Awards.  Taylor Swift opened the TV show with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”  Taylor picked up her 7th Grammy today in the category of Best Song Written For Visual Media.  The song, “Safe & Sound,” was a duet with The Civil Wars, and appeared in last year’s movie “The Hunger Games.”

Another early winner was Little Big Town.  The quartet had been nominated four previous times, but this was their first win, for their #1 hit “Pontoon.”   Kelly Clarkson won Best Pop Vocal, and hugged friends Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. 

Several country stars performed during the TV show, including Hunter Hayes, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, and The Zac Brown Band.  Zac’s latest CD, “Uncaged,” won for Best Country Album.  Carrie’s #1 hit Blown Away was honored for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.  Country stars presenting awards on the show included Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Keith Urban.
