Toby Keith Is Live In Overdrive

Toby Keith is back on the road this summer with his Live In Overdrive tour, featuring Brantley Gilbert.  Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton spoke with Toby about his 2012 tour: “This should obviously be the Red Solo Cup tour, but Red Solo Cup ain’t payin’ the big bucks.  Ford Truck has been my sponsor for years, so I let them pick it, and they came to me and said they wanted “Live in Overdrive,” and they pay the bucks.” 

Toby’s part of the show traditionally begins with a video, and this year is no exception: “We’ve got a video of me driving through the desert, and I’m supposed to find this bar in thedesert called Clancy’s Tavern.  And I’m lost and I meet this girl in the desert who guides me to Clancy’s Tavern.  When the video ends, when the screen drops the set on the stage looks like the bar you’d seen in the movie.  The set designers have done a great job of morphing that from on the screen to the stage, it’s really cool.”
