Taylor’s ACM Date Hospitalized

Last month, Taylor Swift announced she would be attending the ACM Awards with a young man suffering from cancer.  Sadly we just heard that Kevin McGuire has been hospitalized and will be unable to make the trip to Las Vegas for Sunday’s awards show.   “Just talked to Kevin McGuire,” Swift said in a tweet. “He’s not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I’ll make it up to you, Kevin!”

Taylor co-hosted Country Countdown USA this weekend.  During the show, Taylor told host Lon Helton, “I’m probably more excited about this ACMs than I have in a long time.  I’m really happy how this came together with Kevin.  He’s been battling leukemia for a while, and his sister put up this Facebook page because she’s so proud of how he’s been handling his illness.  So it got so many hits that I wanted to respond.  I haven’t met him yet, this is going to be so exciting.  We’re going to be all dressed up and get to go to an awards show, and it’s going to feel like prom because I’ve never had a date to an awards show.  I normally go with my mom, dad or my brother. So this will be exciting.”

Unfortunately, now that date won’t happen.  But Taylor will attend the ACMs Sunday night, where she’s nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Video of the Year.  She’ll also present an award.
