David Nail Writes With Lady A

| January 14, 2012

David Nail joined Lady Antebellum on the road in 2010. This picture was taken during the tour at Quest Field in Seattle.  We all know that Charles Kelley and Dave Heywood are tireless songwriters.  David is a songwriter too, and actually co-wrote his current hit “Let It Rain.”  So the three got together during that time and wrote a song that’s expected to be David’s new single: “I Thought You Knew.”  After you hear the song, listen below to hear David Nail talk about Lady Antebellum.

David Nail talked about Lady Antebellum on Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton: “I’ve known Hillary for a long time. The first time I met Hillary, they hadn’t gotten their record deal yet, and I saw her sitting in with the band at Tootsie’s Orchid Rose in Nashville. I called one of the guys at our label and said, “There’s this girl downtown, she’s incredible, I’ve never seen stage presence like this, you’ve got to come down and see her.”  So he comes down, and she’s on stage, and he goes, “Who’s the girl you want me to see?”  And I said, “That’s her on stage.”  He goes, “She’s about to sign with Capitol.  She’s in Lady Antebellum.”  I remember feeling like such an idiot.  That was the first time I got to spend time with her, and they’ve had an amazing three years.
