| December 4, 2011

Country stars are heading to Las Vegas for the 2nd annual American Country Awards.  The show, hosted by Trace Adkins and actress Kristin Chenowith, will air Monday night on the Fox Network.  Jason Aldean and the Zac Brown Band lead the nominees with 8 apiece.  Neither are performing on the show.  Miranda Lambert’s all-girl trio Pistol Annies will make their debut.  “It’s our first nomination as a band, and we are so excited, we’re performing on the show, and it’s the first time we get to do an awards show and red carpet as Pistol Annies, so we’re gonna be like little girls playing dress up.”  Also new to the show this year: The Eli Young Band. “Rarely do we turn down a trip to Vegas.  It’s exciting to just be nominated.”  Besides EYB and Pistol Annie, performers include Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Thompson Square, Scotty McCreery, The Band Perry and the legendary supergroup Alabama.  They will also receive the Greatest Hits Award.
