Shawna Thompson Goes “Naughty Black”

When Thompson Square showed up to do the Countdown, we noticed something a bit different about Shawna.  The last time we saw her, her hair was streaky blond.  Now it was all black.  She told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton there was a reason for the change: “I had a lot of blond, and then on the road it’s very hard for us girls to keep up with the dying of our hair.  So I just decided to go all dark.  You are getting it straight from me.  No one else knows.  It’s made life a whole lot easier.  Keifer kind of talked me into it actually.”   “The stylist was like ‘What color do you want?’ And I asked, “Do you have anything in naughty black?’ So we coined the color naughty black!”

Of course Keifer has his trademarked cap, and Lon pointed out he now has to wear it everywhere: “Well, a lot of people think I’m bald.  I’m not, FYI.  I’ve got a mop under this.  It’s like a haystack.  But I got a cool lesson in marketing from a little girl in Huntington Tennessee.  I was signing autographs, and this woman says her little girl is a big fan and wants to meet us.  So the girl comes over, and says, ‘Mommy, that’s not Keifer, he doesn’t have his hat!’ So whatever you start out with, you better be prepared to stay with it.”
