Brad & Carrie’s CMA Preview Pt 1
The 45th annual CMA Awards take place this Wednesday night in Nashville. For the 4th straight year, they will be co-hosted by Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood. They were in our studio last month, and we talked about how they prepare for the big show. Brad said, “Part of getting ready for this is looking back at it. There’s a couple of moments last year when we hit a little note on the keyboard, if that’s how you look at it, as a high point. One of them was something that felt so risky to me going into the monologue, in that I was supposed to sing Lady Gaga songs. And that’s something we rehearsed, and it’s not a joke-punchline-setup-payoff thing. It’s either gonna look like I’m committed, or I’m gonna look like a complete idiot. And looking back on it, I love it. It came off better than I hoped.”
