Toby Writes With Eric Church

| October 22, 2011

Eric Church spent the summer on Toby Keith’s Locked & Loaded tour.  When we caught up with Eric, he described the experience this way: “There’s no shortage of testosterone on stage. But I respect Toby for the way he’s conducted his career.  Toby’s been who he is, and doesn’t care what people think, and that’s what we’ve strived to do.”  Lon Helton played that quote for Toby, and he responded: “He’s been very complimentary and has done a great show every night.  We’ve had a great time on the tour.  All I need to tell you about his direction and whether me and him are gonna fit as friends is we wrote a song the other day, and he brought the idea.  It’s ‘Reverend Jack Daniels and the Congregation of the Chemically Altered Mind.” So we wrote it and it turned out to be wonderful.  But you knew what you were dealing with right there.”
