Kenny Chesney Top 10

Kenny Chesney is one of the most-played artists on country radio.  He’s released 45 singles since his recording career began in 1993, and 20 of them have gone to #1. But which of Kenny’s hits are his Top 10 most-played songs? 

#10: There Goes My Life.  This was the first single from Kenny’s “When The Sun Goes Down” CD in 2003.  It went to #1 early in 2004.

#9: Young.  Kenny often talks of this song from 2002 as the turning point in his career.  He’d already had hits with “How Forever Feels” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”  But the sound of this single became the template for his music for the rest of the decade, and the video was the first directed by Shawn Silva.

#8: Summertime. For years, it was the lead song at Kenny’s shows, and the crowd always sings the line about “YooHoo.”  It was the third single from “The Road & The Radio,” and spent a month at #1 in the middle of the summer of 2006.

#7: Out Last Night. Kenny wrote this song about an experience during his 2008 winter break in the islands, and it was the first single from his Greatest Hits 2 CD.  It went to #1 in the summer of 2009.

#6: How Forever Feels. Kenny had a few #1s before this, but this is the one people remember.  Always a popular favorite at his shows, inspiring the tossing of a lot of “big orange balls.”  The video introduced us to Kenny’s love of the islands.

#5: Don’t Blink. He was in the midst of “Kenny-mania” in 2007 when this single came out.  It debuted in the Top 20, breaking a record at the time. 

#4: No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems. The title song from his 6th album, released in the summer of 2003.

#3: She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.  Released while Kenny was on the road with George Strait and Time McGraw in 1999.  It actually only went Top 10, even though it’s become his most enduring hit.

#2: Beer In Mexico. Kenny wrote this song by himself at the home of rocker Sammy Hagar.  It spent a couple weeks at #1 in the spring of 2007.

#1: I Go Back.  Another song Kenny wrote by himself, talking about his childhood and the loss of one of his friends.
