Brad Supports Alabama Relief
On May 3rd, the Grand Ole Opry held a concert commemorating the 1 year anniversary of the Nashville flood. Opry members Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, and Charlie Daniels performed. In addition, the legendary group Alabama was on hand to perform with Brad. But the main thing on their minds was the tornado that had passed through their home state a few days earlier. Lead singer Randy Owen said, “The devastation is so widespread. It’s an amazing deck of cards we’ve been dealt in our home state. I’ve never seen anything like it in all my life. My heart’s so heavy, it’s hard to talk tonight”
That night, Brad Paisley made a decision to donate the royalties for “Old Alabama” to that state’s relief efforts. He told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton, “I feel like if you’re going to have a song out about the biggest band in country music and their name happens to be Alabama, and they’re from the place that was impacted, somebody’s telling me to do some good with it.” Brad will also perform at the group’s Bama Rising benefit in Birmingham on June 14th.
