George Strait’s Goal: 60 For 60
George Strait is one week away from his 61st birthday, and one hit away from his 60th #1 hit. If “Give It All We Got Tonight” makes it to the top of the chart this week, he will get 60 For 60! Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton asked Strait about what it would mean: “It blows my mind to even think about it. I just wanted one one day, I’d have been very happy with just one, and walking through the offices at MCA, looking at the Gold Records, I just wanted one of those too. I’ve had such a fortunate and great career that it’s been amazing. I’m eating it all up right now, I’m just soakin’ it in, the shows every night have been so much fun. I’m having a few second thoughts every now and then, but I have no doubt at the end of 2014 that I made the right decision.
